KOF releases 'Child Of The Ghetto' on iTunes

After lots of radio play and hype on all the social networking platforms, Liverpool-born singer/songwriter has today released his official debut single on iTunes. 'Child Of The Ghetto' is a touching and soulful joint, which has beautiful lyrics and has captured the hearts of many over the past few months. Omar from 'The Wire' to play ODB in a movie

Michael K. Williams, best known for his work as Omar on 'The Wire' and Chalky White on 'Boardwalk Empire' is set to play the late Ol' Dirty Bastard in an upcoming film 'Dirty White Boy'. Entertainment Weekly reports that the Joaquín Baca-Asay-directed film will focus on the relationship between Ol’ Dirty Bastard and his manager, Jarred Weisfeld, during the last years of ODB’s life - it’s said that both Weisfeld and ODB’s mother, Cherry Jones, approve of the project. Going to be mad, but can't wait.

DJ Reza arrested following corruption scandal

Two former L.A. Coliseum officials and a promoter have been arrested as part of a corruption scandal that has rocked the publicly run venue. Former Coliseum general manager Patrick Lynch, events manager Todd DeStefano and promoter Reza Gerami were arrested this morning by investigators from the District Attorney’s office, Jane Robison of the District Attorney’s office told the LA Weekly. It has been reported that all kinds of shenanigans were happening at the venue in recent years, including, as the Weekly first reported, the shuffling of under-the-table cash to union stagehands who probably should otherwise received payroll checks for their work.

Example releases 3 old mixtapes for free

With three studio albums under his belt, not many people know about Example's mixtape days - well today he has made sure there is no excuse not to, by uploading all three mixtapes to SoundCloud as free downloads. Odd Future's Boston show shut down by Police

Controversial Hip-Hop crew Odd Future are currently on the road promoting their new mixtape, but last night saw them hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons. Rumours are flying around as to why the Boston show was brought to an end, but it seems as though the Police stepped in after group member Lionel “L-Boy” Boyce was arrested - it has also been said that Jasper Dolphin was restrained by security after smoking weed on stage and attempting to jump from the venue’s balcony. Example set for US debut show on March 26th

After dropping the Ludacris-featuring remix of 'Changed The Way You Kiss Me' earlier this week, Example is set to play his first ever show in the US on Monday @ the Gramercy Theater in New York. The Warehouse Project reveals new venue in Trafford Park

After many months of speculation surrounding the new venue, The Warehouse Project have today announced that this year they will be based in Trafford Park, which is located on the outskirts of Manchester City Centre. Granted it's not as convenient as Store Street, but let's be honest, nowhere could ever be as convenient as there. However, there are numerous methods of transport to get to and from the new venue (see here), and with the level of line-up's expected throughout the year, it will no doubt be worth that extra bit of effort to make sure you get there. Easter weekend is sold out, with the line-ups for September-December on the way. Can't wait.

R. Kelly's 'Trapped in the Closet' set for return in 2012

R. Kelly's unending music video drama series 'Trapped In The Closet' is set to make a comeback in 21012. The next installments of the brilliant R&B musical will be broadcast on IFC "this year," according to a post on the network's site. The first 12 installments of "Trapped in the Closet" came in 2005, with an additional 10 chapters in 2007. Check out a snippet/teaser video after the jump.

Lauryn Hill announces one off London show on April 14th

Well, I didn't see this coming! Grammy-award winning legend and ex-Fugees member Lauryn Hill has just announced that she is set to play a one off show in London next month. The show will mark Ms. Hill's first show in the UK for 5 year, and will take place at the Indigo2 on April 14th, with tickets going on sale this Friday (23rd) @ 9am.
