AllHipHop is reporting that rap star and producer Kanye West has been hit with a $500,000 (£312,200) lawsuit over a sample contained in the 2006 version of "Girls, Girls, Girls (Remix)".

London-born rapper Wretch 32 has today announced that 'Hush Little Baby' will be the fifth single to be lifted from his critically acclaimed sophmore album 'Black & White'. The track features Ed Sheeran and is produced by TMS, and will be released on May 20th. The release will follow Wretch's upcoming UK tour, which starts at Portsmouth's Pyramid on May 8th and concludes at The Stannery in Falmouth on May 19th.

Diplo has been one of the busiest men in music so far this year, and he doesn't seem to be slowing down, with the news breaking that he is currently in the studio working on a Reggae album with the legendary Snoop Dogg. Diplo himself said the record is sounding "f**king awesome" and that "Snoop Dogg is an icon, man; he’s bigger than the music. What we’re doing is a reggae record… It’s all reggae and he’s singing and he’s doing a f**king awesome job and I never knew it, but he had his heart in every song.". EXCITING!

21-year old singer/songwriter Ed Sheeran, who has already taken the UK charts by storm, is currently in the USA trying to do the same. Last night he performed on the Late Night With Jimmy Fallon Show, which airs tomorrow, and tonight he is set to play the first date of the US Snow Patrol tour, which is at the Hard Rock Live in Orlando, Florida. The record breaking debut album '+' has been confirmed to have a June 12th release date. Onwards and upwards.

A couple of months ago I brought you information about a competition that Artful was running for his latest single, which features Irish singer/songwriter Kal Lavelle. The remixes flooded in, with some smashing attempts along the way, but it was Dub Rocca's Drumstep take on the song that has gone on to take the title. The young producer now gets the chance to have his mix released and promoted as an EP, and will get a chance to remix the next single, with the possibility of spending a day with Mark in the studio. A great remix, especially the second half.

With the likes of Deadmau5, Rihanna, Drake, Example, Knife Party & Calvin Harris topping the bill at this year's Barclaycard Wireless Festival, it was already set to be one of the biggest weekends this Summer, but today the London-based event have unleashed another batch of massive acts onto their line-up. The Weeknd, Labrinth and Clement Marfo & The Frontline are the ones that stand out for me, but Childish Gambino, Modestep, Gemini, Jaguar Skills, Dot Rotten, Delilah, Chiddy Bang & Theophilus London all deserve a mention. Fulham-born UK sensation Example last night made his American debut with a performance at the iconic Gramercy Theater in New York. From all reports it was a massive show, as has become expected from Example over the past two years, with anthem after anthem and a light show that is simply unrivaled. After jetsetting all around the world, Sheeran has been back in the UK this weekend filming the video for the heart-wrenching track, which is sure to capture the hearts of millions when it drops next month. Oh, and there is going to be a sixth single too.

This is not what I wanted to wake up to on a beautiful Sunday morning. BET have today announced that the legendary Bobby Womack has been hospitalised with a bout of pneumonia - fellow music icon Bootsy Collins revealed to fans on Twitter, that the 68 year old singer/songwriter was ailing and asked that fans send their prayers and well wishes to Womack. "Funkateers, send prayers & love vibes up for Bobby Womack. He is fighting pneumonia in the hospital now. Will update after I talk to him," Collins tweeted.
