Gone Too Soon: Ol' Dirty Bastard (Radio 1Xtra - October 14th)

Set to be aired October 14th on 1Xtra @ 9pm is a new documentary produced by Folded Wing Productions called 'Gone Too Soon: Ol' Dirty Bastard', which will see Charlie Sloth delve into the life, times and rhymes of the controversial Wu-Tang Clan member. The documentary will include interviews with ODB's friends, family, collaborators and more, which will allow us to unearth some of the secrets behind one of the most love personalities in Hip-Hop. This is the second episode in a new series of 'Gone Too Soon', which will also give us an insight into Guru, Gil Scott-Heron & Amy Winehouse's wonderful lives.

Omar from 'The Wire' to play ODB in a movie

Michael K. Williams, best known for his work as Omar on 'The Wire' and Chalky White on 'Boardwalk Empire' is set to play the late Ol' Dirty Bastard in an upcoming film 'Dirty White Boy'. Entertainment Weekly reports that the Joaquín Baca-Asay-directed film will focus on the relationship between Ol’ Dirty Bastard and his manager, Jarred Weisfeld, during the last years of ODB’s life - it’s said that both Weisfeld and ODB’s mother, Cherry Jones, approve of the project. Ol' Dirty Bastard - Return To The 36 Chambers (Deluxe Box Set)

Novemember 13th will mark the seventh anniversary of the death of Wu-Tang/Hip-Hop legend, Ol' Dirty Bastard, who sadly passed away two days before his 36th birthday in a recording studio owned by his first cousin and fellow legend, The RZA.
