Rise - Shine Down

Here is my favourite track from this Mancunian beat technician/crate digger/musician's debut album, Messages. The album is a deep, spiritual Jazz record with splashes of Hip Hop and heavily influenced by Pharoah Sanders, Alice Coltrane, Madlib, Strata East & Black Jazz. Super dope.

Bad Meets Evil - Loud Noises (Feat. Slaughterhouse) x Welcome To Hell

Two of my favourite tracks from Eminem & Royce Da 5'9's highly anticipated collaborative EP, Hell: The Sequel. Loud Noises features the Slaughterhouse boys and Welcome To Hell is produced by Mobb Deep's own, Havoc. I don't think it's either of their best work by any stretch of the imagination, but I do think it's a lot more enjoyable than Relapse & Recovery. Out on the 14th June.

Tyler, The Creator - She (Feat. Frank Ocean)

Wasn't a massive fan of Goblin - in fact I'm not a massive fan of Odd Future in general. However, here are some cool visuals for my favourite track from Tyler's sophmore album.

Faith SFX - Play Hard (Feat. Wretch 32) x Reach For The Sky (Feat. Little Dee & P Money)

Beatboxers/vocal percussionists are best known for their live performances and usually find it difficult to create a solid discography for themselves - Rahzel probably has the best, and even his isn't that impressive. Over the past few years Faith SFX has fast become the go-to-man when it comes to beatboxing in this country and has just dropped his highly anticipated debut album, Man Or Machine, which boasts a tracklist that is nothing short of spectacular. Upon clicking play I didn't really know what to expect, but I have to say that I love every single thing about it - he has drafted in the very best MCs in Grime and UK Hip-Hop to create an album that showcases everything positive about the Urban scene right now. Below are two of my favourite tracks - every MC on the album does their thing, but Wretch & P are the two that stood out for me (Cykologic deserves a mention too - never heard of him, but he blew me away). Genuinely one of the best albums of the year so far - get your copy HERE.

Mikill Pane - Summer In The City

A new single from Mikill Pane, which is produced by Jake Gosling & Adam Coltman. Love the upbeat production, his rhymes are on point as always and the hook/chorus absolutely smash it - have a feeling that I'll be singing along to this a lot over Summer. The video, which features a few little cameos (including Ed Sheeran), is produced, filmed & directed by Ruskin Kyle. Mr. Pane is one of my favourite artists out there right now - he has a super fresh sound and general outlook on life.

Maverick Sabre - Let Me Go

Following on from his exceptional Professor Green and True Tiger features, and the well received Travelling Man mixtape, here is Maverick Sabre's debut single. Utilising elements of Soul, Reggae and Hip-Hop, Maverick has created an incredibly unique sound that can't really be compared to anyone else. Have a feeling that this man has an massive 2011 ahead of him. Lots of love for the Portishead sample too.

Junclassic - People

The latest single from Junclassic's new album, Better Than Fiction, which will be produced entirely by Wunderkid. The familiar loop definitely agrees with headphones - real head bopping Hip-Hop.

Samiyam - Escape x My Buddy

Sam Baker, better known as Samiyam, is an instrumental Hip-Hop producer from Michigan who was first discovered in 2008 by the incredble Flying Lotus. His latest release, Sam Baker's Album, is 40 minutes of pure listening pleasure, a series of woozy, off-centre Hip-Hop instrumentals drawing heavily on Baker’s love of electronic funk. Always unique, and never ordinary, this is a must have if you are a Samiyam fan - his best work to date.
