After lots of radio play and hype on all the social networking platforms, Liverpool-born singer/songwriter has today released his official debut single on iTunes. 'Child Of The Ghetto' is a touching and soulful joint, which has beautiful lyrics and has captured the hearts of many over the past few months. After shooting into the spotlight earlier this year, following his feature on Rudimental's stunning single 'Spoons', MNEK tonight uploaded this refix of one of my favourite tracks from 'Kaleidoscope'. To think the entire lead vocal was recorded on his iPhone is mind-blowing when you consider how soulful and pure he sounds, and displays the level of talent this 17-year old possesses. Can't wait to hear more from MNEK in 2012 - talent, and then some.

'Oriela' & 'See Me Now' are my two favourite pieces from Ryan Keen's 4-track EP 'Focus', which was independantly released earlier this week. Although iTunes categorised it as Pop, it's much more than that - the EP is completely unique sounding project, which brings together influences from Folk & Soul. Extended Play's don't get much better than this, and if you like what you hear from the two tracks below, be sure to pick up your copy HERE - you won't be disappointed. Although he is known by most as an OutKast affiliate, Sleepy Brown is an exceptional solo artist in his own right, and this new single from his new album shows exactly that. The laid-back piece of R&B is from 'Sex, Drugs & Soul', which is the follow up to his 2006 (under-rated classic) release 'Mr. Brown' and should be out in Summer. What a voice - US peeps can get a copy NOW.

Joining many other acts in having the same issue with their label, legendary Motown group The Temptations have this week filed a suit against UMG (Universal Music Group) for millions of dollars in unpaid royalties, claiming they have not been given the correct amount of revenue from ringtone and digital download sales.

A stunning video for the lead single and title track from the incredibly talented Lianne La Havas' forthcoming EP, which is set for release on April 30th. The young singer/songwriter has been doing the rounds for quite some time now, but 2012 is the year she steps into the spotlight. Big love for this lady.
