Kid Cudi - Blue Sky

2024 has started strong in terms of album releases, but the most exciting is probably the return of Kid Cudi, with 'INSANO' and features the likes of Pharrell, A$AP Rocky, Travis Scott and loads more. The penultimate track is 'Blue Sky' and feels like classic Cudi, and is one of my favourite things that he's released in recent times. Buy & stream the album here.

Puma Blue - Hounds

The House of Coxhead is mostly about new music, but sometimes the word 'new' can mean just discovered. On my mission to listen to an album every day, I came across Puma Blue (Jacob Allen) for the first time; a London-based artist, whose music is like nothing I've heard before. There is a real depth, in every sense, to both the production and the lyrics on the new album 'Holy Waters' from September. My favourite from the album was 'Hounds', which actually dropped over a year ago. So happy to have this in my life.

Slauson Malone 1 - New Joy

Discovering artists like Slauson Malone 1 is the exact reason for restarting The House Of Coxhead. His style, sound and whole vibe is so refreshing on every level. Someone on YouTube described it as "a mix of Crumb, Steve Lacy, Thundercat and Brockhampton, but somehow unique and easily stands out", and it feels like a very accurate statement. Support the album here.

Alt-J - Left Hand Free

Alt-J continue to build on their reputation as a band that refuse to be pigeon-holed with 'Left Hand Free' the second track to be unveiled from their highly anticipated second album. While 'Hunger Of The Pine' was a typically alternative piece of indie-electronic ethereal Alt-J pop, 'Left Hand Free' captures a more traditional classic rock sound, albeit with a new-age twist. Love them or hate them, Alt-J remain one of the most forward thinking bands in the business.

Murkage - La Plage (Feat. Bipolar Sunshine)

The Murkage boys team up with fellow Mancunian Bipolar Sunshine for their new single 'La Plage', which as always spans across a wide variety genres, to create a fresh forward-thinking sound. My favourite Murkage track to date, with a big video to follow.

King Krule - The Krokadile

One of my favourite tracks from the debut album by the ginger prince, King Krule, which is available to purchase HERE. This 19 year old singer/songwriter who went to Brit School has gained attention from all corners, and it's easy to see why - his unique soung and delivery style is quite easy to fall in love with. Great song, great album.

Lolo - Heard It From A Friend

Co-produced by Mark Batson, here is the new single from 25 year old American singer/songwriter Lolo, who was born in Tennessee and currently resides in Brooklyn. A really cool joint, and a very exciting artist - love the gritty voice...
