Puma Blue - Hounds
Mk.gee - Are You Looking Up
The Black Keys - Shine A Little Light
Years & Years - Desire
The highly tipped Years & Years show exactly why they are worth talking about with "Desire", the follow up single to their sensational "Take Shelter EP". One to watch for 2015.
Alt-J - Every Other Freckle
We've already heard two songs from Alt-J's new album This Is All Yours and now they've shared a third. New track 'Every Other Freckle' sees the former Mercury prize winners once again take on the modern indie rock template and transform it into something totally weird and unique, in a way only Alt-J seem to know how. Indeed despite the loss of founding member, Gwil Salisbury, at the beginning of this year, at this rate Alt-J album number two might just prove to be even more ground breaking than album number one.
SBTRKT - New Dorp, New York (Feat. Ezra Koenig)
Premiered today on BBC Radio 1, SBTRKT aka. Aaron Jerome has revealled the first track from his forthcoming sophomore album, Wonder Where We Land. The track entitled 'New Dorp, New York' was written and recorded alongside Vampire Weekend lead singer Ezra Koenig and sees the mercurial producer pursue a very different sound to anything found on his debut. I feel it's going to take a few listens to get my head round this one, but I'm excited to hear more.
Alt-J - Left Hand Free
Alt-J continue to build on their reputation as a band that refuse to be pigeon-holed with 'Left Hand Free' the second track to be unveiled from their highly anticipated second album. While 'Hunger Of The Pine' was a typically alternative piece of indie-electronic ethereal Alt-J pop, 'Left Hand Free' captures a more traditional classic rock sound, albeit with a new-age twist. Love them or hate them, Alt-J remain one of the most forward thinking bands in the business.
Alt-J - Hunger of The Pine
After what seems like an age away former Mercury prize winners Alt-J return with their first piece of new music since the release of their critically acclaimed debut album An Awesome Wave. The track, entitled 'Hunger Of The Pine', is a slow-building experimental number that blends indie rock with new age electronic sounds in a way that only Alt-J can. More suprising still it samples vocals from Miley Cyrus, the lyric 'I'm a female rebel' lifted from the singer's song '4x4'. Suprises aside, Alt-J are back and sounding better than ever.
Bipolar Sunshine - Where Did The Love Go
Premiered last night on Radio 1, Mancuinan singer-songwriter Bipolar Sunshine unveils a brand new track in the form of 'Where Did The Love Go', which is taken from his forthcoming debut album, expected later this year.
