SBTRKT - The Light (Feat. Denai Moore)

Uploaded yesterday, 'The Light' is the fifth track to surface from SBTRKT's forthcoming sophmore album Wonder Where We Light and sees the mercurial producer hook up with relatively unknown singer-songwriter Demi Moore, adding to a list of album collaboraters that already includes Sampha, A$AP Ferg & Ezra Koenig. I was lucky enough to see the man himself live at iTunes Festival on Friday and while his set consisted of a mixture of tracks both old and new if that perfromance was anything to go by this album should be very special indeed.

SBTRKT - Live @ Maida Vale

Ahead of this weekend’s Reading & Leeds festival, SBTRKT was joined by Ezra Koenig and Sampha yesterday as he performed a three-track session live from Madia Vale for Zane Lowe on Radio 1. Vampire Weekend's Koenig jumped in on a rendition of new single ‘New Dorp New York’, while Sampha guested on ‘Temporary View’. During the session, SBTRKT also aired ‘War Drums’, a track featuring Warpaint that plays out as a bonus cut on the producer’s forthcoming second album Wonder Where We Land. SBTRKT - New Dorp, New York (Feat. Ezra Koenig)

Premiered today on BBC Radio 1, SBTRKT aka. Aaron Jerome has revealled the first track from his forthcoming sophomore album, Wonder Where We Land. The track entitled 'New Dorp, New York' was written and recorded alongside Vampire Weekend lead singer Ezra Koenig and sees the mercurial producer pursue a very different sound to anything found on his debut. I feel it's going to take a few listens to get my head round this one, but I'm excited to hear more.

SBTRKT - Transitions

Last month, SBTRKT shared a new track called 'Hold The Line', which he said marked the first in a series of instrumentals he plans to release leading up to a new album. Now he's revealed the full details of that series. It's called Transitions and will take the form of six tracks spread across three 12"s (also available as downloads) released by Young Turks. Premiered on BBC 6 Music by Mary Anne Hobbes, elusive producer SBTRKT provides a small insight into the possible sound of his highly anticipated second album via an exclusive first play of just one track taken from what will eventually form a series of instrumental only pre-album EPs. Great to hear new music from a man who is easily one of the most innovative producers in electronic music today.

Frank Ocean - Whip Appeal (SBTRKT Edit)

So it seems like SBTRKT is a big Frank Ocean fan, huh? After reworking 'Thinking About You', the masked magician last night unveiled his edit of 'Whip Appeal', which makes a stunning track even more enjoyable. Hopefully they work together properly one day - now that would be sick.

SBTRKT Announces US Tour

UK Electronic producer SBTRKT has today announced a number of dates in the US this Spring - the tour comes after the success of his self-titled debut album and will follow a forthcoming Wildfire 12", which will be released on February 21 and comes with an instrumental version of the track and the Drake featuring 'Ovo Remix'.
