Resident Advisor: Resale Service

Unveiled today, Resident Advisor has officially launched it's brand new ticket resale service which is designed to give customers a secure and reliable platform from which to buy third party tickets to sold-out events. The service will also allow people to get their money back to a sold-out show if they can no longer attend, while ensuring their ticket is sold to another genuine fan at the final release price, eliminating the problem of touts and secondary ticketing companies profiting at music fans expense. This kind of thing has been a long time coming in the UK and it's great to see RA leading the way in the attempt to find a solution to this ever growing problem. More info on how exactly the service will work after the jump.

House of Sonos: Origins (Eats Everything)

As the second part of their new 'House of Sonos: Origins' film series, Resident Advisor discover the corporate life that Dan Pearce (aka. Eats Everything) escaped to become one of the scene's biggest DJs. Offering an incredibly interesting insight into just how hard some DJs have to struggle to make it, the short film is well worth a watch for anyone who is a fan of Dan's or Bristol for that matter. You can also catch Eats Everything live every Saturday at XOYO for the next 12 weeks as part of his recently announced guest residency.

Real Scenes: Berlin

Real Scenes: Berlin from Resident Advisor on Vimeo.

For the third edition of Real Scenes, Resident Advisor and Bench go to one of the most special places for electronic music in the world: Berlin. When the Berlin Wall came down in 1989, techno became the underground soundtrack to the reunion between East and West. In recent years, it's become an international destination for ravers - a cheap place to party with clubs that are renowned throughout the world. Techno has become a business in the meantime, yet Berlin still maintains a credibility that other cities lack. To understand why, RA and Bench went to the German capital eager to find out about its unique history and the reasons behind its continued relevance. Visit the feature page on Resident Advisor. Sick mini-documentary.

Catz N Dogz

Polish duo Catz N Dogz released their latest podcast/mix for Resident Advisor earlier today. For this very special mix they have reached right to the back of their record shelves in order to present the length of breadth of their house music interests. These are two of the most talented men in music right now. Interview and tracklist after the jump. Listen and download the podcast HERE.

What have you been up to recently?

The main thing is that we are in the middle of an album tour, playing DJ sets, playing live all over the world. We are kinda workaholics so we do everything at the same time. Right now we have couple of residences in Polish clubs and one at Berlin’s Farbferhnseher, where from time to time we invite friends to play.

We’re working on our label, Pets Recordings, (signing new artists, remixes and the new website is online now). We also want to do some videos. After the album we are already focusing on some new stuff that will come out and, of course, a lot of edits. Oh, and there will be album remixes coming out as well. (Carl Craig, Sect, Julio Bashmore.)

How and where was the mix recorded?

The mix was recorded in Ableton during our travels but we first ripped a lot of our old vinyl. Actually the biggest amount of time that we spend doing this mix was the track selection.

Can you tell us a bit more about the mix?

We wanted to do a mix that includes the whole spectrum of music that we play at parties. We play big room parties but small private venues in Berlin and in Poland as well. For us the biggest fun is to play various stuff.

How healthy would you say the electronic music scene is in Poland currently?

It’s a very difficult question… There are a lot of cool parties in various locations. If you want to party you should visit Warsaw, Poznan, Krakow and Wroclaw. Clubs have better soundsystems than a few years back and line-ups are cool. The best are festivals in the summertime: Audioriver, Opener, Boogie Brain, Tauron, Unsound and many more. We’re very happy that there are more and more new producers and the quality is OK. Some people still produce only for their friends and they don’t want to release it because they are too shy. This is one of the reasons why we started Pets.

Your recent album featured a dubstep track in “Only for The Moment”: is this a genre you will look to explore more thoroughly in the future?

We are working right now on a new project but we can’t say anything more because we don’t know exactly what it is until it’s finished. [laughs]

What are you up to next?

Increasing workoholizm.
