Who You Are X Mamma Knows Best

Here are my two favourite tracks from Jessie J’s debut album, Who You Are. Granted they were both written years ago and there have been different versions floating around the internet for ages, but they have been re-produced/re-vocalled and made into simply stunning pieces of music. I’m also glad she has used the live version of Big White Room, because vocally it’s one of the best performances you will ever hear. Unfortunately some of the songs on the record sound very similar, but on the whole it’s a huge album, I will be listening to it a lot and will break a ridiculous amount of records when it’s released over here on Sunday. Her talent alone deserves all of the success that this is going to get.

Freedom

Wasn’t expecting much from the Clare Maguire album, because I’m not a massive fan, but this song is brilliant. Not really feeling the production/general feel of the whole album, but I can appreciate why people love her music.

Rolling In The Deep

A lovely little House remix of Adele’s smash hit, Rolling In The Deep, courtesy of Guy Gabdois. I really like what he did with this.

Casualty Of Love

Jessie J’s second American single, Casualty Of Love, which is a stripped back piano driven ballad and one of best things I’ve heard from her. Her voice is absolutely ridiculous. Can’t wait for the album.

6AM

Here is the first official single from the super talented singer/songwriter David Stewart, who most of you will know as the guitarist from Example. I heard a rough cut of the track a month or two ago, but he sent me the final version yesterday, and haven’t stopped playing it since. This is a beautiful love ballad that ticks every box for me when it comes to a Pop record. There will be a video coming in the next few weeks, but for now you should go and get your free download HERE. You can also download his cover of Price Tag/Where Is The Love/Back For Good HERE.

Nobody's Perfect

Here is another offering from Jessie J’s upcoming debut album, Who You Are. This is a pretty enjoyable song, but I’ve still to hear anything that is on the same level as Big White Room.

Promise This

Here is Adele’s stunning cover of Cheryl Cole’s smash hit, Promise This. Pretty sure this is how it was meant to be sung originally. HERE is a link to download the performance in full.

Turning Tables

Adele’s highly anticipated 2nd album arrived in my inbox the other night, and it’s safe to say that it didn’t disappoint. This lady has a very special talent, and is very likeable too, which is something not enough artists are these days. I know it’s only January, but this will take some beating for best Pop album of 2011. Here is my favourite track, which is a piano driven ballad that has a sort of Chasing Pavements Pt. 2 feel to it. Pre-Order on iTunes.
