Michael Kiwanuka - Bones x Rest

Michael Kiwanuka is a man who shot into the spotlight earlier this year after becoming BBC's Sound of 2012 winner. Along with signing to Polydor Records and supporting Adele on tour in 2011, it's been a rather exciting 12 months for the young singer/songwriter, but March 12th is a day when life becomes even more exciting, with his highly anticipated debut album 'Home Again' set for release. We've had the pleasure of hearing a few cuts from the album recently, but the Guardian today uploaded a full album stream, and these are my two favourite tracks after a couple of listens. Michael Kiwanuka Announces Spring Tour

BBC's Sound of 2012 winner Michael Kiwanuka has recently announced details of his new UK and Ireland Spring tour. The singer/songwriter kicks off in Bournemouth on May 13th, and concludes at London's O2 Shepherds Bush Empire on May 23rd. Michael is set to release his debut album 'Home Again', March 12th on Communion/Polydor Records. Radio 1 - Hackney Marshes Big Weekend 2012 (Emeli Sandé, Ed Sheeran, Michael Kiwanuka & more)

Hackney Marshes in London has been the venue confirmed to host this years Radio 1 Big Weekend event, on Saturday 23-24th June, with a line-up that includes Ed Sheeran, Emeli Sandé, Michael Kiwanuka, Dappy, Plan B, Jessie J, Labrinth, Florence, Lana Del Rey, Tinie Tempah, Rizzle Kicks and more. The event's director, Jason Carter, explains: "This is a concert in the heart of East London and we will use it as an opportunity to shine a light on and celebrate the young people of east London too". Registration for Hackneys Radio 1 weekend is now available, and will be open for six weeks - 100,000 tickets will be up for grabs, but you can bet your bottom dollar that they'll be gone in a flash. Beating the incredible Frank Ocean, Azealia Banks, Skrillex and Niki & The Dove to the title, hopefully Michael can emulate the success of previous winners such as Adele, Jessie J & Ellie Goulding.
