3 years ago today saw the untimely passing of the King of Pop, Michael Jackson. Back in November of the same year, Hip-Hop legend DJ Jazzy Jeff paid tribute in the only way he knows how, by putting together a stunning 40-track mixtape of blends and remixes, alongside all of Michael's greatest hits. One of the best MJ tributes you will ever hear - get your copy HERE.
Footage of Jay-Z's full performance at BBC Radio 1's Hackney Big Weekend, which features cameos from Rihanna, M.I.A. & KanYe West. Legendary.
Ed Sheeran, Rizzle Kicks & Killa Kela jamming in Ed's dressing room at BBC Radio 1's Hackney Big Weekend. You can also check out Rizzle Kicks performing 'Mama Do The Hump' & Ed performing 'The A-Team' after the jump.
Official video for the lead single from Vinnie Paz's forthcoming sophmore album 'God of the Serengeti', which is dropping this fall. The Jedi Mind Tricks frontman is without doubt one of the best lyricists out there for me, and his debut solo album was an extremely enjoyable Hip-Hop record, so I'm looking forward to hearing this, a lot.
And the hype surrounding NaS' first album for four years builds even more with the leak of this new track, which features a verse from Maybach Music head honcho Rick Ross - the track is once again produced by No I.D. & Salaam Remi. This album is gonna be huge.
This week has been NaS week with the Hip-Hop legend over in the UK for BBC Radio 1's Hackney Weekend and a string of shows up and down the country. To keep things rolling, Annie Mac last night gave us the first spin of Massive Attack's remix of the second single to be lifted from his forthcoming album 'Life Is Good', which is set to drop July 17th. Very sick remix.
Richie Kidd comes through with a funked up soulful House remix of the new single from Corduroy Mavericks, which samples vocals from Nate Dogg, NaS & JS' classic of the same name. The original features hardly any of the vocal, but Richie goes all out, leaving The Don & J's full verses in there, which for me works really well. Get your copy HERE.
Beatboxer, fashion designer and generall all-round bad man Lucas Brooks has been dabbling in a bit of DJing as of late, and has started to record some mixes, with this being my favourite of the lot so far. Bringing together some old skool classics and some new skool anthems, this is just what's needed to brighten up a wet and windy Thursday afternoon.
Premiered last night on Mistajam's show last night, here is the official remix for Plan B's latest single 'Lost My Way', which features a guest verse from Wu-Tang & Hip-Hop legend Raekwon. Hate the word epic, but this really is epic on so many levels. Get the single and pre-order the album HERE.
