DTMD - YOU

Here is a flavour of what you can expect from DTMD's album 'Makin Dollas', which is set to be released via Mello Music Group on September 20th. This takes me back to the 90s when Hip-Hop was raw and not about the money - it has a very Pete Rock/Dilla feel to it, and you can definitely hear the Oddisee & Kev Brown influences. You can download a copy of the single for FREE and pre-order the album HERE.

DJ Shadow - Stay The Course (Feat. Posdnuos of De La Soul & Talib Kweli)

Spotted over at SKOA, here is the latest piece to surface from DJ Shadow's upcoming fourth studio album, The Less You Know, The Better, which will feature collaborations from Talib Kweli, De La Soul's Posdnuos, Little Dragon, Afrikan Boy and Tom Vek. Judging from this it sounds like Shadow is back to his best, but I will save my judgement for when the album drops on September 27th. For more info check HERE.

Phonte - Not Here Anymore (Feat. Elzhi)

YES YES YES!!! Here is the lead single from Phonte's upcoming debut solo album, Charity Starts At Home, which is set to drop on September 27th. 'Te is on fine lyrical form, Elzhi is as monstrous as ever and 9th Wonder is one of the greatest producers to ever walk the Earth - what more could you want from a lead single?! This man is easily of my favourite artists of all-time, both rapping and singing, and I'm pretty sure that this will be the Hip-Hop release of the year. Download for free HERE, and then be sure to support next month.

Blu - Never Be The Same (Feat. Sa-Ra & Noladarling)

My favourite track from Blu's latest LP, No York, which he has apparently been throwing out to the crowd at his recent Rock The Bells performances. This guy's work ethic is something else, and his talent speaks for itself - the lyrics on this joint are so true. One of the best Hip-Hop artists to emerge from the past 10 years.
