Wretch 32 - F64 (SBTV Season 3)

Here is the first episode from the highly anticipated Season 3 of SBTV's critically acclaimed F64 series. Jamal has drafted in Wretch 32 for this one, who's new single is out @ midnight tonight and debut album is out on August 21st. One of the most talented MCs that this country has seen for years, maybe ever (yeah I said it). Go and support this guy, he deserves it.

Was planning on doing lots of catching up on my return from Cornwall, but there is far too much to do, so I recommend you just go and check SoulCulture, RWD, WeAreSme & 2DopeBoyz for everything that has been happening over the past 8 days. Personal highlights for me have been Watch The Throne x Otis video (of course) the You Need Me remix and the Common/NaS video. Got lots of exciting and exclusive stuff coming up in the next few weeks/months to make up for my time away. Promise.

Don't forget Ed's t-shirt competition closes @ 12am TOMORROW night! Enter HERE!

Scroobius Pip - Introdiction

Here is the first teaser track from Scroob's upcoming solo record, Distraction Pieces, which is produced by Danny Lohner. The video was shot for £100 directed by Aaron Shrimpton & Scroobius Pip and shot by Tom Coles. This sounds massive - always thought that No Commercial Breaks was under-rated (better than most of the Dan vs Scroob stuff), so I really hope that Distraction Places delivers the goods.

M-Trey - A Chance x Content

Great unsigned artists are few and far between, but ever since discovering this guy back in 2009 I have become enchanted by his story, and music. Delbert Hunt III, better known as M-Trey (previously Master 3), is a young Chicagoan rapper/singer who has an extensive back catalogue of mixtapes/albums that all seem to have a well thought out concept - his latest release is no different (see his words on the album below), and for me is his best release to date. 3AM shows the progression of Trey's ability to tell a story and the way he can structure hooks/choruses and songs as a whole. As with all his albums he gives you it for free, but if you like what you hear on these two tracks and love his music as much as me, then should you spread the word and support one of the most talented young artists I know (all the links you need are below).

“It’s finally here. I named this album 3AM because I stay up late to write all the time. I’ve always felt that those times when I’m sitting late at night, alone with my own thoughts, are when I’m the most honest with myself. Everything I’ve been trying to forget about or ignore comes to the surface and I’m forced to deal with it. In that spirit, this album is probably my most honest to date, and that’s something that I’m really proud of. This is everything that’s been inside of me for the past year, and I hope the people who listen to it can get something from it.

Wake up. It’s 3AM.”

With their latest album in stores NOW, Little Dragon hooked up with Soul Culture TV to discuss all things music; from their legendary inspirations, to the people who they're feeling at the moment - doesn't come as much of a surprise that they are influenced by music from across the board, which is what makes them one of the most refreshing and unique acts around. Subscribe to SCTV's YouTube Channel for Part 2 tomorrow.

Out Da Box TV - Roy Ayers (Interview)

Whilst on the New York leg of his current tour, 70 year old Jazz/Soul legend Roy Ayers sat down with the ODBTV crew and spoke about some incredibly interesting subjects. The main topic of discussion was around Hip-Hop sampling and the support that he has for ALL artists who love and sample his music - one of the most talented, refreshing and down to earth in music (even after being in the game for 50 years). Great interview - hero.

J. Cole - Like A Star

Mr. Cole took to the Internet last night and dropped a 5 track FreEP of unreleased music. Sampling the classic Corinne Bailey Rae track, Cole explains that he was trying saving this track for the second album, but due to a few external problems he decided that he was going to let it go now. If anyone questions this man's work ethic and the amount of talent that he possesses, then you don't deserve to listen to music, full stop. Check out Cole's words on the EP over @RWD and get your download HERE.

Drake - Headlines

Whilst I was away at Global Gathering this weekend, Drizzy Drake unveiled the lead single from his forthcoming sophmore album, Take Care. Dreams Money Can Buy, Trust Issues and Marvin's Room are all more up my street, but this Boi-Da1 produced joint is very sick, and you can understand why he chose this to be the first single.

J. Cole - Can't Get Enough (Feat. Trey Songz)

AH YEAH, here is the lead radio single from J. Cole's forthcoming debut album, which is set to be released September 27th. Love everything about this guy, and this single is no different. Mr Cole World: The Sideline Story will be a classic.
