DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince working on new album

DJ Jazzy Jeff took to his Twitter/Instagram earlier today to post this picture of himself and lifetime friend Will Smith, with the simple caption "Coming soon!". The news that they were planning on hooking up to create a new album leaked a few months ago, but with Big Will having finished Men In Black 3 and now this picture, it seems as though new material is definitely in the works. Nearly 20 years after the release of their last album 'Code Red' in 1993, both are looking much older and have done a lot of living since then, but hopefully Jeff & The Fresh Prince can come through with some refreshingly classic material.

Random Impulse signs deal with Universal

YEAH BOI! Random Impulse has just put pen to paper on a recording deal with Universal. Announced just minutes ago by good friend Ed Sheeran on Twitter, this deal will see the London-born rapper/producer/guitarist be able to fulfill his dream of releasing a debut album over the next 12 months. No Sleep For The Winners out NOW!

Gangrene - Dark Shades (Feat. Evidence & Roc C)

My favourite track from Gangrene's sophmore LP, Vodka & Ayahuasca - the Hip-Hop duo consists of super producer The Alchemist & West Coast rapper Oh No, and this album is the follow-up to their gritty opus Gutter Water. Sick tune, sick album.

Ed Sheeran & Yelawolf - You Don't Know (For F**k's Sake)

AH YEAH! Here is the first piece from Ed Sheeran's forthcoming collaborative EP with Yelawolf, The Slumdon Bridge, which was recorded over a few days during Ed's trip to Los Angeles. The track is a superb crossover of both artist's unique styles and is just a little taster of what you can expect from the EP that is dropping next month. Download below, son.

Marcus D - Don't Hold Ya Breath (Feat. Funky DL)

Marcus D teams up with Jazz-Hop legend Funky DL for his new single, 'Don't Hold Ya Breath', which was released independently today. DL is one of the most under-rated wordsmith's out there and his laid back style fits perfectly over the groovy production from the Seattle born beat-maker. One of the best tunes of 2012 so far. Get your copy HERE - it's only 66p.

BamaLoveSoul - A Tribe Called Quest Samples (Vol. 1-4)

The guys over @BamaLoveSoul have been running a little series over the past few weeks, which has seen them hand picking near enough all of the incredible samples that A Tribe Called Quest have used throughout their entire discography. Over the 4 volumes there are 122 samples, including some classics, lots of obscure tracks and some unbelievable drum skits. Download this mind-blowing collection HERE and check out the tracklists out after the jump. Greatest group of all-time.

DJ Jazzy Jeff - A Musical Journey (Mini-Documentary)

DJ Jazzy Jeff, the best DJ of all-time and one of the most under-rated producers to grace the earth, takes you on a musical journey by giving you an exclusive look at his recent tour of Asia. The video was shot by Christopher Schafer over the 12 shows that Jeff did in the Far East, and it seems as though he and his music went down extremely well out there. Hip-Hop is universal.

Eric Turner - Angels & Stars (Feat. Lupe Fiasco & Tinie Tempah)

After bringing you the title track a few weeks ago, here is the lead single from Eric Turner's forthcoming mixtape, Style Changer. The singer/songwriter sticks with Ishi on production duties, but calls on his good friend Tinie Tempah and Chicago-born MC Lupe Fiasco to lend a verse each for this anthemic head-nodder.

Mikill Pane - Kings

Here is my favourite track from Mikill Pane's forthcoming EP, The Morris Dancer, which is set to be released February 13th and is the final release before his debut album 'Blame Miss Barclay' drops later this year. 'Kings' is another piece of glitchy Electro-infused Hip-Hop, which is a sound that Mr. Pane has now perfected and made his own - it's like a cross between Hot Chip and Slick Rick, which can only be a winning formula. Don't forget that the release will be supported with a free launch party at The Book Club, East London on 25th January. Stream the EP in full HERE.

New Zealand beatmaker Ghost yesterday uploaded his funky remix of the brilliant 'Selfish' by Slum Village, which was released in 2004 and featured KanYe West & John Legend. This is smooth, free download below.
