Sampling Ol' Dirty Bastard's classic 'Got Your Money', here is a sexy piece of Nu-Disco/Indie Dance from Sharam Jey & Tom Breu. Nothing to say about this apart from WOW, this is how you take a Hip-Hop joint and make into something fit for the club! Get your copy HERE.
Here is Tiger & Woods' stunning remix of the new Tensnake single, Need Your Lovin', which is set to be released December 9th on Permanant Vacation. One of my favourite Disco acts remixing one of my favourite House producers - can't ask for anything more than this. Pre-order HERE.
One of the stars of Electronic music in 2011, Julio Bashmore, is back with a stunning piece of music, which is taken from forthcoming EP 'Riff Wrath'. Nothing but love for this guy.
Miguel Migs releases the video for 'Everybody' featuring disco legend, Evelyn "Champagne" King and invites you to join in on a fantastical retro-tastic soul tinged party reminiscent of the halcyon disco days gone by. Everybody is the first single from Migs' stunning third studio album, Outside The Skyline, which is out now on Om Records and features guest appearances from Bebel Gilberto, Meshell Ndegeocello, Capelton, Half Pint, Freddie McGregor, Georg Levin and longtime collaborators, Aya and Lisa Shaw. The remix package features some of the most exciting producers to emerge in future disco/house genre including Boston's Soul Clap, top dance charter Aki Bergen, Defected's Hardsoul and of course, Miguel Migs himself. One of my favourite House/Disco tunes of 2011.
Released this week on Local Talk, here is the stunning new single from Deep House producer Actual Proof. Not a lot to say about this apart from get your copy HERE and groove the night away. Sexy music.
My favourite track from the latest release on Hotfingers, which comes courtesy of Ralph Good and Dave Kurtis and will be available to pick from HERE tomorrow. Classic old skool Disco vibes with some real 21st century flavour. Love this.
Miguel Migs has just released his third album, Outside The Skyline, which is a follow up to his 2007 release, Those Years. The album follows in the footsteps of his two previous releases, bringing together sounds and influences from a wide variety of genres and cultures; in this case, early soul, dub, jazz, reggae, funk, disco and house. As Miguel explains, “I take inspiration from everything around me. Its not about trends or what’s fashionable, its about creative expression, quality, emotion and artistic integrity.” - I love that. Showcasing an extraordinary line up of creative and internationally renowned artists – Migs’ reputation is such that, when it came to recording Outside The Skyline, he was able to pull together some impressive collaborators including original disco diva Evelyn ‘Champagne’ King, reggae legends Capleton, Half-Pint and Freddie McGregor, first lady of musicianship Meshell Ndegeocello, Berlin based singer Georg Levin and bossa nova phenomenon Bebel Gilberto. Below you can hear the stunning track with Miss King and buy what is one of the best House releases of 2011 HERE.
Here are my two favourite tracks from Crazy P's upcoming fifth studio album, When We On, which is set to be released September 19th on 2020 Vision. The group was originally formed in 1995 by Chris Todd and Jim Baron, but expanded in 2002 by introducing bassist Tim Davies, percussionist Mav Kendricks, and vocalist Dannielle Moore. To put it simply, they are bloody amazing - their sound is based around funky basslines, stunning vocals and deep grooves, which together makes for the most stunning Deep House/Nu-Disco music you could ever wish to hear. Pre-order HERE, and read more on the album after the jump.
My favourite track from Ben Westbeech's sophmore album There's More To Life Than This, which was released today on Strictly Rhythm. Produced by Chocolate Puma, this piece of funky/soulful House is just a sample of what you can come to expect from one of the albums of the year. Buy HERE and read my review HERE.
