R&B singer/songwriter Cecil Womack passed away in Africa on Friday, which is where he had moved in the 90s with his wife and musical partner, Linda. Cecil was 65 and brother of legendary Soul singer Bobby Womack.

Afer returning from a well deserved break in Australia, a newly engaged Example has announced that he will be headlining Rockness Festival this Summer, on a line-up that includes the likes of Basement Jaxx, Jessie Ware, Ellie Goulding & Madness. After uploading their new single 'White Noise' last week, Disclosure now find themselves top of the Cool Cuts Chart, which is the UK's leading tastemaker chart and is compiled from reactions by tastemaker DJs & the Cool Cuts panel. Following the success of 'Latch' it was important to bring something big to the table, and judging by this piece of news, all bodes well for the real chart when it drops on February 15th.

The Manchester-based festival Parklife today announced the first for their 2013 event - Hot Natured, which consists of Jamie Jones, Lee Foss, Luca C & Ali. Manchester's incredible inner-city festival Parklife today announced the first lot of information for their forthcoming 2013 event, which is set to take place on June 8th/9th. Earlybird tickets will go on sale January 24th at 9am for just £55!, with the full priced tickets going on sale a week later. The full line-up will be announced on February 14th.

News broke today that Hideout Festival has become one of the first festivals of to sell out in 2013. The festival is set in stunning Croatia, has a line-up better than any other and is run by the same people who created the Warehouse Project in Manchester, so it's no surprise that tickets have been snapped up so quickly.
