Disclosure top Cool Cuts Chart with 'White Noise'

After uploading their new single 'White Noise' last week, Disclosure now find themselves top of the Cool Cuts Chart, which is the UK's leading tastemaker chart and is compiled from reactions by tastemaker DJs & the Cool Cuts panel. Following the success of 'Latch' it was important to bring something big to the table, and judging by this piece of news, all bodes well for the real chart when it drops on February 15th.

Calvin Harris & Example top this week's Cool Cuts Chart

After shooting straight in at #3 with the highest new entry last week, Calvin Harris & Example this week find themselves at #1 in the Cool Cuts Chart with their huge collaborative single 'We'll Be Coming Back'. The single beats off competition from 'Finale' by Madeon, Paul Van Dyk's 'The Ocean' and 'Spectrum' by Florence & The Machine, with notable new entries from Caspa, David Guetta and Layo & Bushwacka. Ed Sheeran scores highest ever charting debut album by a UK male artist in the official US Chart

After rocketing straight to No.1 on the iTunes chart when his album dropped last weekend in America, it has now been announced that '+' has gone in at #5 on the official chart, which is the highest ever debut entry in US Chart for a UK male solo artist. One Direction achieve US chart history after debuting at Number 1

British boy band One Direction have this week made US chart history by becoming the first British act to go in at Number 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with their debut album - a feet that The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Queen and even the record-breaking Adele couldn't achieve. The album only reached Number 1 in the UK chart, but this week shifted 176,000 copies in the US, and knocked Bruce Springsteen's 'Wrecking Ball' off the top spot.

Adele hits another chart milestone in America

Friday saw Adele reach another milestone in America, holding down #1 on the Billboard 200 album chart for the 23rd week. Billboard reports that her sophmore album sold another 247,000 copies in the past week, and has now become the longest-running #1 since Prince & the Revolutions 'Purple Rain' soundtrack spent 24 weeks at the top in 1984/1985. This year the Pop princess has sold 2.07 million copies, with Whitney's Greatest Hits way behind in second, with 527,000 copies sold. Unbelievable.

Gotye spends 4th week at No.1, selling 558,000 copies

Belgian-born Gotye this weekend finds himself spending his fourth week at number 1 in the official UK singles chart with 'Somebody That I Used To Know'. The single has been around for some time now, but only started to become noticed in this country a couple of months ago, and has now sold 558,000 copies, making it the first single to break the half a million barrier in 2012. Emeli Sandé's 'Next To Me' climbs one spot to take the runner-up place, with Nicki Minaj moving up to 3 with 'Starships'. Girl group Stooshe are a new entry at 5 with 'Love Me'. DJ Fresh secures first ever number 1 Drum & Bass single

Back in July last year, DJ Fresh became the first artist to have a number 1 Dubstep single - now in February 2012, Daniel Stein is back at the top of the UK chart, with 'Hot Right Now' becoming the first Drum & Bass number 1 single of all-time. Featuring Roc Nation's Rita Ora, the track has received heavy radio play from all across the board and pipped Emeli Sandé's stunning 'Next To Me' to the top spot.
