Julio Bashmore’s highly anticipated EP, Everyone Needs A Theme Tune, is to be released on January 10th. Below you can hear the lead track from the EP, which will feature remixes from Ramadanman and Midland. This guy just keeps doing it - bass, bass & more bass.
Public House is the brain child of Finnian Casey (soundcloud), and is a label that is set to blow the house scene apart with its bass driven funk infused tracks. His night Public House (named after the Label) boasts a concerted party ethic set to a backdrop of conscientiously made tunes featuring guest DJ appearances from the cream of underground Techno and House movement. The track below is a remix of my favourite Frank-N-Dank tune, Ma Dukes. As far as House music goes, this is as funky and good as it gets. Excited to see/hear what more they have to bring us in the near future.
Burns & Fred Falke have a tune coming out in a week. Here is my favourite remix from the EP; from Fool Gold’s own, Treasure Fingers. Prefer it to the original.
Azari & III and Nicolas Jaar have been two of my favourite breakthrough acts this year. So the other day when Pitchforkast posted Jaar’s remix of this beautiful track, it’s safe to say I was pretty excited. Stunning work.
This track is taken from an album which I am kicking myself for being late on and relying on my Mum to bring it to my attention. Richard Earnshaw is a super-talented UK producer who in August laid down a 10-tracker that will blow your mind. It’s a glorious and effervescent mix of late 70s boogie flavours interspersed with forward thinking house beats, jazzy vibes and ultra-soulful vocals. Everything I could wish for really. The album includes appearances from Jocelyn Brown, Eric Dillard, Carleen Anderson and many more. This track however features two absolute legends - Kenny Thomas and Roy Ayers. Make sure you also check out Grant Nelson’s remix of the lead single, here. Real music.
Here are two new House tracks for you, which are simply breath-taking. First up is the B side from the Lovebirds’ latest EP, Love And Happiness, which is called Rain. Everything about this is just stunning.
Next up is a track called ‘Right Mj’, which features on Pierre Santino’s latest album, Bebop. Earlier in the year he released another album called Jazzy Sunshine, which has been one of the most played House releases in my iTunes. The guy is a genius - nobody can quite mix House & Jazz in the way this man can. Music doesn’t get much better.
This modern day classic has been given the the once over by Dubstep producer Savoy. First half of the track is much better than the second, but it’s still very nice. Hit the jump for another delicious remix.
However, when it comes to remixing the Marley’s, Deep City Soul still hold the crown for that. Although it’s a Heath Hunter track, Damian and Stephen both heavily feature on Trenchtown and back in 2009, this is what DCS did to it. Beautiful.
