Ghostface Killah - Me Denny & Darryl (Feat. Method Man & Cappadonna)

One of my favourite records from the latest Ghostface Killah album, which solidifies why he is one of the most consistent members of Wu-Tang and one of the best to ever do it, period. Listen to the album here, it's a breath of fresh air.

CARIBOU - Home

After a five year hiatus under his Caribou moniker, Dan Snaith returns with a stunning piece of music entitled 'Home'. Sampling the amazing Gloria Barnes, he says: "I’m always listening to lots of music and sometimes a loop just jumps out at me – it’s too perfect. That’s how it was with Gloria Barnes’ ‘Home’ – I kept returning to it, meaning to do something with it but not knowing what. It wasn’t until the circumstances of someone close to me mirrored the refrain of the original song that the track all came together.” Gloria only ever released one album called 'Uptown', which is super rare and currently going for £2,000 on Discogs. Amazing music never grows old... This is a dope refresh, make sure you check out Illa J's version from 2017.

CJ Fly - Rudebwoy (Feat. Joey Bada$$)

CJ Fly and Joey Bada$$ are (still) two of the most exciting names in Hip-Hop for me right now, so to hear them together on a Statik Selektah beat like this is a breath of fresh air... Joey's verse in particular is straight fire on this. Keeping that Native Tongues vibe ALIVE and kicking!

Robert Glasper - Let Me In (Feat. Mick Jenkins)

'Let Me In' is one of the standout records from Robert Glasper's new album 'Fuck Yo Feelings', which features the likes of Bilal, Herbie Hancock, YEBBA, Yasiin Bey and many more. This track features the lyrical monster that is Mick Jenkins, which couple with Robert's forward thinking production, makes for an amazing fusion of hip-hop and jazz. Stream the full album here.

Gang Starr - Family & Loyalty (Feat. J.Cole)

Sometimes music has the ability to make your heart smile... 'Family & Loyalty' is one of those moments. Hearing the voice of Guru on a Preemo beat in 2019, along with one of J.Cole's best verses in years, is something special. Real hip-hop music forever.

Common - Leaders (Crib Love) (Feat. A-Trak)

Common, one of the greatest MC's of all-time, returns with his latest album 'Let Love', which features Daniel Caesar, Jill Scott, Leon Bridges, BJ Chicago Kid and more. 'Leaders' featuring production from A-Trak reminds me of all-time classic Common, which can only be a good thing... you can imagine this record fitting perfectly onto 'Be'. Time to listen to this on repeat for the next few weeks - buy and stream here.

Sampa The Great - Freedom

Very happy to see Sampa The Great sign with Ninja Tune... One of the most exciting artists to emerge from the past few years and one of the greatest independant labels of this generation can only mean great things. 'Freedom' is my favourite track the three tracks she has released with the UK-based imprint, which is taken from the full album and drops here on September 13th.
