Murs - Hip Hop & Love (Feat. Tabi Bonney) x 67 Cutless

My two favourite tracks from Murs' upcoming album, Love & Rockets Volume 1: The Transormation, which is entirely produced by Ski Beatz and is set to be released October 11th on Damon Dash's new BluRoc label. Murs remains to be one of the most under-rated rappers and lyricisits after 10 strong years in the game, but true quality always shines through and this album is another simply flawless release to add to his stunning back catalogue. Oh yeah, the amazing artwork was designed by Dave Burnett, who was the man behind the covers for Curren$y‘s Pilot Talk series. Big album.

BlackStar - Fix Up (Live on The Colbert Report)

The legendary Hip-Hop duo BlackStar, better known as Talib Kweli & Yasiin Bey (formally Mos Def), dropped into The Colbert Report last night to have a quick chat and bless us with an exclusive performance of a new track, Fix Up. Hip-Hop is dead, yeah? Alright then.

Nappy Roots - Give Me A Sign (Feat. Rashan)

Nappy Roots is an American alternative Southern Rap quintet (now a quartet) that originated in Bowling Green, Kentucky in 1995 and is best known for its hit single, Anwaw. Their new album, Nappy Dot Org, is pretty average on the whole, but this track is sick and opitimises everything that is positive about the dirty South scene.

Common - Blue Sky

Produced by No I.D., here is a radio rip of the second single from Common's forthcoming album, The Believer. Very cool sample, amazing concept and lyrically flawless. This should be a pretty special album, from one of the greatest rappers to ever live.

Goldie Loc & Wire - Nuke Town x Soopafly & 16Bit - Speaker Pop

After bringing you the incredible all-star remix of 'Be Like Me' yesterday, here are my two favourite tracks from Snoop Dogg & Mistajam's new mixtape, Throw Ya Dubs Up. 'Nuke Town' sees Goldie Loc going in over DJ Wire's mind-blowing 'Tales From The Crypt' (Snoop also drops an amazing verse over Rihanna's 'California Dream Bed' on the outro) and 'Speaker Pop' finds Soopafly doing his thing over 16Bit's massive 'Boston Cream' (MTA all day baby). Never thought I would ever hear anything like this in my life, but then again, you should always expect the unexpected when a project involves Mistajam. Pick up your copy of this must have mixtape HERE.

Kendrick Lamar - Cloud 10

Produced by Nosaj Thing, here is a new free download from Compton-based rapper Kendrick Lamar. Been a huge fan of this guy for a long time - his flow, lyrics and style are completely different to that of any other rapper, and that is something that really appeals to me. One of the most exciting rappers to emerge from the West Coast scene for a whilel, Get your copy HERE.

People Under The Stairs - Too Much Birthday x We Got It

Here are my two favourite tracks from People Under The Stairs' eighth studio album, Highlighter, which was released last week on Piecelock 70. The LA based duo have never been the greatest rappers in the world, but they both have a unique flow and the production is always on point, which makes for an incredibly raw and old skool Hip-Hop sound - I will always love these guys. Styles P - Children (Feat. Pharoahe Monch)

Whether it be as a part of the triple threat The LOX, or as a solo artist, Styles P has always had razor sharp slick talk and has thus created a cult-like following by his countless fans within the Hip-Hop and Gangsta Rap community over the past 13 years. His new album, Master Of Ceremonies, is a solid release full of sick rhymes, dope production and big features - this Pharoahe Monch featuring and 'Jenny From The Block' sampling (which he featured on many years ago) is definitely one of the stand out tracks for me. Pre-order HERE, and get your copy on Tuesday.
