Aquilo - I Gave It All

Ahead of their performance at their first ever set  of headline live shows backed by a full band later this month, Lake District duo Aquillo have unveiled the first track to be taken from their forthcoming second EP, expected later this year. With tinges of London Grammar, early Coldplay and even a little Bonobo "I Gave It All" is already up there with the most distinctive new music I've heard this year and adds further fuel to the building fire around one of the most exciting propositions in UK music today.

Layla - Black Mud (Aquilo Remix)

Premiered by Pigeons and Planes earlier this week, young Lake District duo Aquillo have put their own atmospheric spin on the lead single from London based singer Layla's new Black Mud EP. The remix is typical of the boys' work to date and incorporates a variety of sounds and instruments to create a layered production effect that is totally absorbing, yet manages to perfectly isolate and highlight the strength of Layla's vocal. I've been impressed by everything these two have put out so far and this is no exception. Mark my words, Aquillo have a big future ahead of them.

Aquilo - Part Of Your Life

A few weeks ago we featured 'You There', the first track to be unveiled from Silverdale based duo Aquillo's self-titled debut EP, which is due for release early next month. Yesterday they uploaded a second track from the four track EP, entitled 'Part Of Your Life', which sees the duo go in a much deeper production-heavy direction, but with equally stunning consequences.
