Set to be released August 28th on OWSLA, here are my two favourite remixes from the remix EP for Skrillex & Damian Marley's huge collaborative single 'Make It Bun Dem'. Brodisnki takes the track down a Tech-House route, but it's Alvin Risk who stands out from the rest, with an outrageous Moombah-influenced bass heavy version that takes you on a 4 minute musical journey.

Fun. - We Are Young (feat. Janelle Monae) (Alvin Risk Remix Part II)

A few months ago, the supremely talented Alvin Risk added a much-needed club inflected slant on Fun.'s Janelle Monae-assisted chart smash "We Are Young". But the good news is that, he's now gone back in on it, and created something that maintains that anthemic feel that was prevalent in his original rework, but switches up the feel to something that we've become more accustomed to hearing from the producer. Lasers, insanely precise vocal sampling/pitching and yawning basslines all figure here, and this now staid and over-saturated track now has yet another lease of life. I remember when he played this out during his set supporting Example in April, so glad we finally get to hear the studio version.

Alvin Risk releases 'Infinity' EP

After bringing you the title track a few weeks ago, we can now bring you the new EP from DC-based producer Alvin Risk, which was released yesterday on iTunes. Alvin Risk - Infinity

Alvin Risk is currently readying the release of his new EP 'Infinity', and today uploaded the title track, which is nothing short of spectacular. The track is only 3.50 mins long, but takes you on a musical journey that delves into about 12 different genres and seems to last forever, in a good way. This kid just keeps getting better and better - the EP is available to purchase April 24th on Dim Mak. Cannot wait to see his set on the Example tour.

I'm a massive fan of basically everything that Alvin Risk does. The US producer is currently one of the hottest properties in the EDM game right now, what with touring with Skrillex and gaining masses of support from some of the most respected musicians on the scene. And to add to his startlingly exceptional back-catalogue, here is his club-friendly remix of Fun's Janelle Monae-featuring single "We Are Young", due out on Atlantic Records on 20th March. Displaying a different side to Alvin than we're used to, it's more club banger than complex moombahton, but it's massive all the same. Be sure to watch out for this guy in 2012, big things are expected.
