Akshin Alizadeh - Walkin' 2gether

My favourite track from Akshin Alizadeh's Cold Busted debut, El Gran Duelo, which will be available on August 17th. As with any CB release, the samples are as obscure and spectacular ever (which are mainly Spanish this time round, if you couldn't guess from the title), but this has a lot more funk than usual and is the most enjoyable release to come from the label in a while - 10 tracks of pure Downtempo genius with lots of soul and groove thrown in there for good measure. Those keys make me feel happy about life.

"WALK, WALK, YEAHAHHH!"

Astro Raph - You & Me x Song For The Gods

Been a while since I've posted some Cold Busted material, but here are two of my favourite tracks from Astro Raph's debut LP on the label, which will be available to buy on July 20th. The two pieces that I have picked show the diversity of Astro and the album itself, switching between Trip-Hop, Drum & Bass and wide variety other electronic genres. Many artists/producers who try to do this usually fail, but everyone on Cold Busted seems to have the ability to be able to create cohesive mult-genre albums. A simply brilliant release.

Poldoore - Greenwood

My favourite track from Poldoore's debut Cold Busted release, L.A.X., which will be available to buy on July 13th. Mixing together Dub, Trip-Hop, Funk & Soul, he has created a sound that won't sound out of place at any BBQ this Summer. Jam.

Overstanding x Ocean Of Pain

Here are two new tracks taken from two different upcoming Cold Busted projects. First up is Overstanding by Brandon Bass that will feature on a 21 track LP called Stone Cold Busted 2, which is out June 22nd and includes lots of delicious stuff from pretty much every member of the CB team. Listen to what is said on this - it’s very interesting, and very true.

Next up is another exceptional piece of Trip-Hop, which is taken from Astro Raph’s upcoming EP, I Can Touch The Stars, which will be available on May 11th. This label never ceases to amaze me. Both of these releases are a must buy for me.

The Way You Stance x Shanghai Showdown

Another release from Cold Busted, and another spectacular musical journey. This time it’s courtesy of Belgian producer Sixfingerz, who has taken Trip-Hop to a whole new level, drafting in samples from all around the world and creating a sound that I’ve never heard before. Midnight Finger Gymnastics is everything I love about this label and one of the best Trip-Hop albums you will ever listen to - that is no word of a lie. Sometimes I find it hard to pick two tracks to showcase the overall sound of an album, but this one was genuinely impossible, I did try though. If you like what you hear and support music that comes straight from the heart, then you can get your copy on June 8th. I’ll be playing this non-stop, for a very long time.

Fought Or Flown

Here is my favourite piece from Igloop’s upcoming 4 track EP, Sunken Relics, which is available to buy April 27th on Cold Busted. Some people may think I get paid to post this material or work for Cold Busted, but neither of these are true, I just believe in supporting a label that produces such quality music. Time after time they release incredibly thought provoking EPs/albums, which are very hard to come by in this day and age. Igloop has created a sound which allows you to get lost in your own thoughts. This is an example of Trip-Hop at its very best.

Mermaid

My favourite track from 80s Casual’s latest 5 track EP, Volume 3, which will be available for you lovely people to buy on March 30th. This is very smooth & very sexy, and shows even more versatility from the Cold Busted signee. Support good music, please.

Wet Dreams

Following on from Gramatik’s Street Bangerz 1, 2 and 3; Cold Busted have passed the baton on to German producer Krystian Shek for part 4, and I’m happy to say that he has done a sterling job in continuing this incredible series. Here is one of my favourite tracks from the album, which uses a classic sample from a classic Snoop track. You like? I like.
