A year ago this week Rizzle Kicks burst onto the scene with their cover of Jessie J's 'Price Tag', and to celebrate they have uploaded the video for the fourth single to be taken from their debut album 'Stereo Typical'. Without a doubt my favourite track on the album, and as ever they come through with sick visuals to match. Get your copy HERE.
Following the high demand of tickets for their forthcoming tour over the next few months, Rizzle Kicks have today announced they will be back on the road in November/December at bigger and better venues. Pre-sale is up now HERE, with general sale going up tomorrow. Be quick to avoid disappointment - full list of dates after the jump.
Some really cool visuals for the third single from Rizzle Kicks' debut album, Stereo Typical, which is produced by the legendary Fatboy Slim. Pick up your copy of the album HERE and get your tickets for their upcoming tour HERE. These boys never fail with their videos.
Drumsound & Bassline Smith's collaboration with dance legends Utah Saints, which sees the British Electronic group from Derby re-invent the Utah Saints' classic smash hit, has this week reached the top of The Cool Cuts Chart. The Cool Cuts is the UK’s leading tastemaker dance chart compiled from reactions from tastemaker DJs and the Cool Cuts panel, which is now in it’s 23rd year. This week also sees new entries from Rizzle Kicks, Avicii & Little Boots. Hit the jump to see the Top 10 and pick up your copy of Music Week to see the full chart.
Brighton-based Benji Boko takes Rizzle Kicks' new Fatboy Slim produced single for a twisting and turning funked up ride. I love the original, but this remix is on some futuristic type shit. Get your copy of Stereo Typical HERE.
Here are two of my favourite tracks from Rizzle Kicks' highly anticipated debut album, Stereo Typical, which was released today on Universal Island. Having released three singles from the album over the past six months there have been many mixed reviews on the duo, with some people hating them and others claiming that they are a breath of fresh air in the UK Hip-Hop scene - me personally, I'm a fan. When I first heard them towards the start of the year I wasn't sure what I thought, but having heard more of their work and being able to listen a lot of the album prior to its release, I can safely say they've got me convinced. They aren't the greatest lyricists in the world, and if you're getting the album expecting it to be a deep and thoughtful listen, then you're going to be sadly disappointed. They make fun rap music, that is easy to relate to, but still has a message. As I've said before, they remind me a lot of Das EFX, who only managed to stay around for a couple of albums, but hopefully these two boys are going to be here for a little longer. Get your copy of the album HERE.
Here is the incredible Drum & Bass remix of Rizzle Kick's second single from their forthcoming debut album, Stereo Typical, which comes courtesy of Mark System. You can pick up this, the original and a remix from Sonic Eclipse HERE. Big tune.
Ed Sheeran, Wretch 32, Tinchy Stryder, Ms. Dynamite, Gary Barlow, Tulisa, Chipmunk, Rizzle Kicks, Mz Bratt, Dot Rotten & Labrinth all hook up to bring us the official Children In Need single for 2011, which is a simple but effective re-working of Massive Attack's iconic track, Teardrop. The official video sees all of the artists in the studio with some stripped back and thought-provoking visuals, which puts emphasis on the incredibly powerful lyrics. Very well done.
YEYAAAHHH! Premiered on Radio 1 earlier today, here is the second single from Rizzle Kicks' forthcoming debut album, Stereo Typical, which you can now pre-order over at HMV. I liked Down With The Trumpets, absolutely love this and have some stuff in my iTunes that makes me very excited for what these two have to offer over the next 12 months. Some people don't seem to 'get them', but I don't think there's much to get - they are two very talented brothers who make incredibly fun and catchy reggae infused Hip-Hop. They are cool, unique and have created a sound like nothing I've ever heard before - I like that. Update: peep the official video HERE.
