Donna Summer, The Queen of Disco, dies aged 63

Donna Summers, the Queen of Disco music, has today passed away at the age of 63 following a long term battle with cancer. TMZ have reported that Summer was in Florida at the time of her death and that the singer was trying to keep the extent of her illness under wraps. Apparently she was working on a new album that was set for release later in the year, but will be best remembered for her iconic 70s classics such as 'Last Dance', 'Hot Stuff' and 'Bad Girls'. Another legend gone too soon.

Adele takes Songwriter award & Ed Sheeran wins Best Song at Ivor Novello's

After sweeping up at the BRITS & The Grammys, Adele was nominated for four awards at this year's Ivor Novello's, taking away two; Songwriter of The Year and Most Performed Work of 2011 for 'Rolling In The Deep'. Ed Sheeran picked up Best Song Musically & Lyrically for 'The A-Team', beating off competition from 'Rolling In The Deep' & 'Shake It Out' by Florence & The Machine. PJ Harvey won Album of the Year award for 'Let England Shake', which was up against Adele's '21' & '50 Words For Snow By Kate Bush'.

NaS announced to headline BBC Radio 1's Hackney Weekend

After Jay-Z was revealed as one of the headline acts last month, fellow Hip-Hop legend NaS has now been announced to top the bill at this years BBC Radio 1 Big Weekend in Hackney. NaS joins the likes of Example, Rihanna, Sub Focus, Ed Sheeran, Plan B and many more for the two day event, which will take place on June 23rd/24th. Smashed it.

Dot Rotten, James Zabiela, Mosca & more added to Global Gathering Line-Up

Global Gathering have today released another batch of names that have been added to the already stellar line-up for this year's festival. Grime artist Dot Rotten joins Tinie Tempah and Chase & Status on the main stage, with names such as James Zabiela, Mocsca, Dada Life, Nicky Romero, Redlight & Breakage being added to stages across the weekend. Global Gathering is set to take place on 27th/28th July @ Long Marston Airfield in Stratford Upon Avon, and if last year is anything to go by, then this year will be another step up. Ed Sheeran's debut album '+' today went up for pre-order in the USA, with a confirmed release date of June 12th. Ed has had to come home from the US Snow Patrol tour a couple of days earlier than planned, but will be announced a full US & Canada headline tour in June. Pre-order the album HERE.

Electronic producer DJ Fresh has this week announced that Roc Nation signee Rita Ora will be joining him on his forthcoming UK tour, at all of the dates, except for Glasgow. The duo will be performing their No.1 single 'Hot Right Now', along with their own solo material, including Fresh's first No.1 hit 'Louder' and his forthcoming single 'The Power' with Dizzee Rascal. Adele's '21' outsells Michael Jackson's 'Thriller'

Music Week have today announced that Adele’s Grammy award winning album '21' has now outsold Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' by 500 copies. The 4,274,300 sales place the record fifth on the list of biggest selling albums of all time in the UK, along with 'What’s the Story Morning Glory' by Oasis (fourth), Abba's 'Gold - Greatest Hits' (third), 'SGT Pepper’s Lonely Heart’s Club Band' – The Beatles (second) and 'Greatest Hits' by Queen (first).
