One of my favourite Biggie songs and one of my favourite JB songs, mixed by the master, Amerigo Gazaway. Check out the rest of his James Brown tribute tape HERE, which features Busta Rhymes, MJ, NaS, Mobb Deep and Bob Marley. Nothing but pure fire, on repeat.
Another loose track from the Wu-Block project by Sheek & Face. Full album soon, please? Everything from this is straight fire - you can't beat a good JB sample.
Not too clued up on Ministry Of Funk, but here are two tracks from their new EP, Galactic Funk. Sampling two of my favourite songs of ALL-TIME, they have turned them both into groovy House records that are simply impossible to not nod your head or tap your feet to. No doubt that one (or both) of these will end up in my new mix.
Tony Cook, better known as James Brown’s drummer, has had an album released on his behalf by Stones Throw, which is a full-length unreleased anthology that was recorded between 1982-1986 (unearthed by Peanut Butter Wolf). Here is a free MP3 that they have put up on their site, which features The Party People and reminds me of the all-time classic, Planet Rock - all the other details you need are HERE. The funk will never die.
