Rolling In The Deep
A lovely little House remix of Adele’s smash hit, Rolling In The Deep, courtesy of Guy Gabdois. I really like what he did with this.

Nicolas Jaar released his XLR8R podcast/mix today. It’s a bit weird, and a difficult listen in places, but it’s definitely worth a download - he is a very exciting talent. Hit the jump to find out more about the man himself and see the tracklist. You can download HERE.
Nicolas Jaar is only 21 years old, but he’s already had quite the life. Much of his childhood was spent in Chile, but his formative years were spent in NY, where he entered the world of electronic music and released his first record before he completed high school, on the renowned Wolf + Lamb label no less. These days, he’s actually pursuing a college degree at Brown, but he still finds the time to DJ around the globe, produce, and run his own imprint, Clown and Sunset. Next week, Jaar will be releasing his full-length debut, Space Is Only Noise, so we figured it would be a fine time to enlist him for the XLR8R podcast series. His exclusive mix does not disappoint, as it’s heavy on his own pensive, jazz- and soul-tinged productions, including several unreleased songs and remixes. Jaar is ostensibly a house artist, but this mix explores different moods, tempos, styles, and eras; it even manages to squeeze in tracks from Bob Dylan and Pharoah Sanders without losing the plot. We imagine that we’ll be hearing lots more from Jaar in the years to come, but the man already appears to be operating at the top of his game.

Visuals for Ben Westbeech’s latest single, Falling. One of the most under-rated artists in this country. This has a definite Jamiroquai feel to it. I love it.
I was blown away when I heard Hercules & Love Affair’s first single a few weeks ago. Well, their disco-infused debut album was released the other day, and it’s pretty bloody spectacular. Here is my favourite track from it, which most definitely brings back the funk.
Here is the latest offering from London based House producer, Huxley. Throughout the past 12 months he has released nothing but the highest quality music, and this no exception - he’s teamed up with Rosso and the outcome is delicious. Blue Peter badge for anyone who can guess the sample. Groovy.
This little beauty is a new track from Maya Jane Cole’s latest EP, Beat Faster, which was released today on Mobilee. It is packed with energy, hypnotic grooves and an original flare. She is my favourite lady in music at the moment, and seems to be able to do no wrong, releasing monster after monster. I’m thinking of proposing when I see her at FNR in a few months time - if that doesn’t work, I can always do it the Gypsy way and go in for a good old grab. Buy the EP on Beatport and support one of the most talented women in music. HOUSE MUSIC BABY!
Made To Play signees Idiotproof give a crunchy, quirky edit of the Detroit Grand Pubahs dancefloor classic. Lovely stuff, from one of my favourite labels.
A genius vdeo to promote the upcoming EP from Phil D’Bit & Sebastiano Sedda, which will be available on Riva Starr’s Snatch! label sometime in February. Have a feeling Mr. Starr is going to have a BIG (busy) 2011. Have watched this video 5 times already and can’t stop smiling.
Here is my favourite track from American-born producer Maceo Plex’s new album, Life Index, which was released yesterday on Crosstown Rebels. According to the man himself; “It’s all the soul music I’ve been holding inside and have been wanting to write”. Whatever it is, Maceo has found a winning formula, making House music that would get any dancefloor moving, any head nodding and any hands clapping. This is his first release on Damian Lazarus’s flawless label, which also plays host to artists such as Jamie Jones, Guti, Art Department and many more. Beautiful music.
Rhode Island-based duo Voices of Black released their Wolf + Lamb debut yesterday, Plastic Dolls, which is their second full-length to date. The album moves with the groove of Hip-Hop, the beats of House and the stride of Pop music way in the future. Musical perfection? I think so.
