After his massive re-work of DJ Fresh's number one single last weekend, Random Impulse has now decided to take Example's chart topping Changed The Way You Kiss Me and put his own unique twist on it. Season 3 of the re-fix series has started with a bang, and I only expect it to get better, so do yourself a favour and subscribe to his YouTube channel NOW.
A big video for the euphoric collaborative single from Laidback Luke & Example, which will be released on October 16th. As well as featuring on Example's massive No.1 album, Playing In The Shadows, this will also act as Laidback Luke's first release on Ministry Of Sound since signing to the label last month - a great choice, if you ask me. Pre-order HERE.
There has been no official statement yet, but earlier today Ed Banger Records have confirmed that DJ Mehdi has passed away. Over the past 15 years the Frenchman remained relatively underground, but the influence he and his music has had on Electronic music as a whole is simply incredible. He has an exceptional back catalogue of his own and has collaborted with the likes of Daft Punk, Cassius, MC Solaar, Chromeo and many more; pushing the boundaries, mixing Hip-Hop and Electronic music better than anyone else, creating the most beautiful disco-infused material that has become the sound of French Electronic music. The cause of his death is unknown, but there reports are that he fell to his death from a roof - my thoughts go out to everyone at Ed Banger Records, his family and of course his beautiful wife, Fafi. Below are two of my favourite Mehdi remixes from the past few years - forever missed.
UPDATE: DJ Mag are reporting that he was on the roof of his home in Paris with a group of friends celebrating the birthday of Riton, his partner in Carte Blanche, when the roof collapsed. A number of others are reported to have been seriously injured in the tragic accident. Riton, aka Henry Smithson, is said to be the only person not to have fallen through the roof.
Some cool visuals for the lead single from Artful's upcoming solo album, which features the lovely Kal Lavelle and was co-written by Ed Sheeran. You can purchase it on iTunes HERE. One of the tracks of the Summer.
Here are the official visuals for Yogi's debut single on Ministry Of Sound, which features the super talented and smoking hot Ayah Marar. Most people know Yogi for his production on Wretch 32's hit single Traktor, but if this is anything to go by, then his solo album will be one to definitely look out for. Check our Mike Delinquent's remix HERE and pre-order the whole EP HERE.
Spotted over at SKOA, here is the title track and second single from Justice's fortcoming second album, Audio, Video, Disco. What do you all think? I'm undecided.
Lots of people have been asking when the New Years Eve (my birthday!) line-up for the final Warehouse Project @ Store Street is going to be announced. Well, fear not, it's on its way and will be out within the next two weeks. For now though, here is a ticket update of all the dates that are SOLD OUT:
The big launch on September 17th is nearly sold out, as are Van Buuren, Hospitality & Pete Tong, so if you want to go to any those, then I advise you to get your tickets ASAP. For the full line-up and ticket info, go HERE.
Premiered tonight as Zane Lowe's Hottest Record in the World, here is the third single from Example's number one album, Playing In The Shadows. Produced by Feed Me, this is definitely one of my favourites from the new release - check out my review of the album HERE and buy HERE.
Here is the lead single from Roots Manuva's fortcoming album, 4everevolution, which is set to be released September 26th on Big Dada - single is out a week before on the 19th. Sounds like he's going for a different sound on this one, and I like it, a lot.
Example & Laidback Luke's collaborative single gets the once over from Italian DJ/Producer Benny Benassi. After hearing this and the Skream remix, you should probably pre-order the EP HERE - out October 2nd.
