Premiered just moments ago as Zane Lowe's Hottest Record in the World, here is the new single from Grime MC Dot Rotten, which is produced by TMS and samples the classic trance track 'Children' by Robert Miles. A wonderful reworking of one of the most iconic dance anthems of all-time. Very much looking forward to Dot's album.
With three studio albums under his belt, not many people know about Example's mixtape days - well today he has made sure there is no excuse not to, by uploading all three mixtapes to SoundCloud as free downloads. 'We Didn't Invent The Remix' & ' What We Almost Made' go back to his Hip-Hop days, with classic samples throughout and produced in full by Rusher, with 'The Credit Munch' marking his crossover period to becoming one of the UK's biggest Dance acts. Download them all HERE and get your copy of The Very Best of Example HERE, which includes some tracks that didn't even make the mixtapes.
Following the success of its first two years, Gottwood Festival is set to return for another awe-inspiring weekend of mesmerising electronic music, stunning visual displays and unique festival treats in 2012. Set in the deep and enchanting Anglesey-based forest location, the festival last year played host to the likes of Jamie XX, Lee Foss, Max Cooper, Round Table Knights and many more - however, this year they have stepped it up once again, by inviting the likes of Tiger & Woods, Huxley, Move D, Mosca, Dinky and countless other brilliant acts along for the journey. All the details and a list of the confirmed acts are after the jump. If you love Disco & House, with a bit of Bass music thrown in for good measure, then this festival is for you.
After many months of speculation surrounding the new venue, The Warehouse Project have today announced that this year they will be based in Trafford Park, which is located on the outskirts of Manchester City Centre. Granted it's not as convenient as Store Street, but let's be honest, nowhere could ever be as convenient as there. However, there are numerous methods of transport to get to and from the new venue (see here), and with the level of line-up's expected throughout the year, it will no doubt be worth that extra bit of effort to make sure you get there. Easter weekend is sold out, with the line-ups for September-December on the way. Can't wait.
Uploaded to SoundCloud yesterday, here is DJ Mehdi's set from the Stones Throw vs. Ed Banger Party in 2009, which took place at Le Bataclan in Paris on March 6th. Meticulously mixed, with an wonderfully eclectic track selection. One of the best DJs ever - miss you.
New laptop, new software and a brand new mix for your ears. The mix covers a wide variety of Electronic genres, including Deep House, Techno, Electro House, Tech-House & Progressive House. Without a doubt one of my most diverse mixes to date, and probably the most fun to make - have a feeling there will be a lot more to come over Easter/Summer too. Tracklist, listen and download link all after the jump. ENJOY!
Featuring the ever impressive Terri Walker, here is the brilliant lead single from SpectraSoul's highly anticipated debut album, which is set for a Summer release. You can pre-order it HERE.
Following their hit single 'We No Speak Americano' in 2010, Australian duo Yolanda Be Cool went from being an underground House act to a household name. Now in 2012 they are readying the release of a sophmore album, and this funky track is the first taster of what we can come to expect - infectious, fun, and will no doubt have the same effect as 'WNSA'.
After having had two number one singles and a number one album in the UK in 2011, London-born Example is set to take the US by storm in 2012 - to help push things forward, legendary rapper Ludacris has added a verse to the anthemic 'Changed The Way You Kiss Me'. Example will be touring America at the end of the year, be on the look out for more details.
Following a screening of the Paul Williams: Still Alive documentary at this week's SXSW festival, Paul Williams himself revealed some information about the forthcoming Daft Punk album, which he has been working on. The American songwriter said: "I have written songs for Daft Punk. This material will appear on their new album, coming maybe June." It's not much, and there is no news as to how many songs he has worked on with the French duo, but with the news that they have also been working with Chic legend Nile Rogers, it's going to be very interesting to see what direction they are going with for their highly anticipated return.
