Aquilo - Seagull
Lancashire-born duo Aquilo return with a new single called 'Seagull'. I've been a big supporter of the guys on here since the very start and that hasn't changed - beautiful lyrics, production and lots of soul.

Following on from their enchanting debut single ‘Get Me By’, electronic singer/producer duo Boy Scout this week mark their return with yet more mesmerising sounds from their lo-fi studio set-up. Entitled 'Bitter Blue', what is only the second track to surface from the mysterious London duo, sees the pair further cement comaparions between the likes of James Blake and Aquilo, this time showcasing a more driven and synth heavy sound, yet one that stills allows the vocal space to breathe. Boy Scout’s producer half also tells how ‘Bitter Blue’ was the spark that set their musical journey alight. He explains, “We were both talking about how easy it is to get caught in this cyclical, adolescent and unfulfilling lifestyle. The track was kind-of a homage to our combined regrets of the last few years.”
After teasing brief clips on BBC Introducing and Radio 6 Music, fledgling electronic duo Boy Scout have finally arrived fully formed presenting their ambient debut single 'Get Me By', which merges modernity with tradition to create an atmospheric soundscape reminiscent of both elements of folk and low-fi electronica - fans of Aquilo and London Grammar, enjoy.
Coming out on Island Records the label that brought us their 'Human EP' late last year, here is the new one from Lancastrian-duo AQUILO, who are without doubt one of the most exciting acts to breakthrough over the past 12 months. Cannot wait for an album from these guys - doing the North proud.
Last week saw Years & Years crowned the overall winners of the BBC's annual Sound of 2015 poll and with the question of who else will make their mark in 2015 seeming to dominate the whole of the internet and blogsphere at the moment, we thought we'd weigh in on the argument with a few suggestions of our own. Aquilo
First up is Lake District duo Aquilo, who ever since releasing their self-titled debut EP back in March of last year have looked like certain future stars. With the latter part of 2014 seeing them sign a major label record deal with Island Records and release the fantastic Human EP, 2015 looks to be the year where their critical acclaim finally goes viral and new single 'Losing You' showcases exactly why.
Ahead of it's full release next month, Lancashire based duo Aquilo have unveiled the title track from their forthcoming second EP and their first formal release since signing a major label deal. I was lucky enough to catch the pair perform the track live at their debut headline London show last Thursday and I can honestly say they blew me away. Hit the jump to listen for yourself and enjoy what might just be the most exiciting new in UK music at the moment.
