Simon Cowell set to launch new reality TV show 'to find the world's greatest DJs'
X Factor mogul Simon Cowell yesterday announced that he will be launching a brand new TV talent show, which is set "to find the world's greatest DJs". The show is yet to be given a title, but we know that it will have a similar format to that of X Factor, with DJs battling it out on stage to win a highly lucrative deal at the end of the series. The show will be co-produced by Cowell's company SyCo and production group Overbrook, which is owned by none other than actor Will Smith and his wife Jada Pinkett-Smith. It is still unknown what UK/US channel the show will be aired on, but it's been in the works for over a year, and you can see what all parties have to say about the programme after the jump. If nothing else, it will be funny to see the Weatherspoon-esque DJs during the audition stages.
Simon Cowell: “We have been working on this show for over a year and we wanted to partner with the right people. As soon as I met Jada and Miguel from Overbrook, I knew they would be our ideal partners. DJ’s are the new rock stars, it feels like the right time to make this show.”
Jada Pinkett Smith: “This show will comb the world to find a new breed of talent. I am happy to be creating it alongside Simon Cowell, the Sony team, and my partner Miguel Melendez, on behalf of the Overbrook family.”
